Wishing BHC 1st Year Team the Best of Luck in Shield Final

The first year team will take on Weston HC in the Shield Final (X8 B Shield) on Sunday 8th April, at 2.30 pm at North Kildare Club HC.

Rules dictate only 12 players for this game (8 players and 4 subs) so the team includes Ali, Molly, Jodie, Lauren Rose, Kate O’S, Leah, Freya, Clodagh K, Abbey, Alex, Sarah and Alesha. The team are to be at North Kildare HC grounds at 1.30 pm for warm-up.

The coaches regret leaving anyone out as it has been a team effort to get to this point, and they would love if the whole team could travel to support the playing team and join in the picnic afterwards. The more support the better!

North Kildare HC is located near Maynooth University, about an hour from Drogheda, at The Maws, Kilcock, Co Kildare: Click Here for directions

Family And Schools Cup Day

As we come to the end of the season we have our Primary & Secondary Schools Cup to look forward to.  This year is going to be epic!
We are holding all competitions on Saturday the 14th of April. There will be the usual prizes for the winners of the school cups but also some additional awards; e.g. most improved player; team player of the year, etc.,  and also the inaugural presidents prize: club person of the year.  All children will recieve an individual prize for their commitment to and love of hockey.  The schedule looks like this:
9am-11am:  5th & 6th Class Cup
11.30am to 1.30pm:  1st & 2nd Class Cup
1.30-2pm:  Infants exhibition match
2-4pm:  3rd & 4th Class Cup
4.30pm-6.30pm:  Secondary School Cup
6.30-7.30pm:  Food reception, Prize giving and party
The Drogheda Grammar School Chef will take care of party food from 6.30 – hot finger foods for the kids and tea, coffees scones, etc., for the adults. We really want this to be a big family day.  As always we will be relying on you the parents to help with the refreshments throughout the day.  You guys have been outstanding in previous years and we really appreciate your efforts in contributing to what is usually the highlight of the year for the children.  For those of you with older children we will also be looking for umpires, face painters, dj’s, score keepers and team managers.  We may also call on some parents to manage teams on the day.
Looking forward to seeing you all on what we hope will be a fantastic family day for the children.  If your child is from third class and up please private message your coach with your childs vote for team player of the year.
Don’t hesitate to contact Sonja on collierdonnellys@me.com if you have any questions at all.
